Mrs. Dopazo

Being selected as teacher of the year at Coral Reef Elementary has been a great honor and truly humbling. It is a blessing to work at Coral Reef Elementary, in the great community that I live in. In total, I have been a teacher for 13 years. I began my teaching career in Kindergarten and have been teaching 4 th grade for the last 9 years. I am grateful to be a part of such a fantastic fourth grade team. During the 2013-2016 school years, I have been recognized as a Florida high impacting teacher.

I was initially inspired to be a teacher because I am the oldest of six brothers and sisters and I found myself teaching them as young child. Teaching brings me so much joy, more than I ever imagined. Working with my students to make learning fun has been my ultimate goal. I believe that if students enjoy what they are doing, they will not only learn in the moment, but retain that knowledge for years to come.

My teaching philosophy is very simple, “Students do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.” I teach and care for each one of my students as if they were my own. To my students I consider myself a teacher, mother bear, nurse, counselor, and role model. I strive to be the best and give my very best to my students each and every day.

Your Teacher of the Year,

Mrs. Dopazo

May the Math Force be with you!
